Adults with mental retardation as we usually understand have sub average general intellectual functioning which are in accepted by the society and as such it is basically the symptoms which finds them a place in the society. The society of such plays a vital role in the employment status of the mentally retarded. But since this is sympathetically considered it cannot be sustained for long. The adult mentally retarded could not have worked for a long time and gain becomes a burden to the family. This scenario continues because parents and teachers do not take the appropriate decision regarding the employment of the adult mentally retarded. If parents take a decision keeping in view his potential and the work and train him in that area, then he would have an empathetic look and could demand work and gain perfection and also work continuously.
